Steve was a natural from day one in real estate and has enjoyed working with hundreds of buyers and sellers over the years. His calmness under pressure has served him well as an entrepreneur, sports coach and swim official, and especially in real estate. In college he was a teaching assistant for the math department and really loved mentoring, so it was a logical transition when he became Broker in Charge of the Coldwell Banker Advantage Chapel Hill office. There he gets to help newer agents learn the ropes and seasoned agents who run into unusual situations, while continuing his favorite part of the job, working with and representing buyers and sellers. He works with his wife and college sweetheart Katie Taylor, and is always ready to jump in, roll up his sleeves, offer advice and guidance, or put on his headlamp and head into a crawlspace. He brings common sense, an impressive depth of knowledge, quiet confidence, and will diplomatically tell you truth, even if it’s not what you want to hear. You can count on him to be dependable, reliable, and always have your best interest at heart. Outside of work, Steve enjoys early morning walks with his 2 rescue dogs and a strong cup of coffee, heading to the gym, entertaining on the screened porch, or travelling anywhere Katie drags him off to see.

It is very hard to put into words how much we enjoyed our experience buying a home with Katie and Steve as our agents. Katie was always so responsive and able to get us in quickly for seeing new houses on the market, often working around our hectic work schedules, which we appreciated so much. Katie and Steve also have great senses of humor, which we loved and really needed as anxious first-time homebuyers! As first-time homebuyers during a crazy seller's market, there were many times when we felt like buying a home was going to be impossible, but Katie and Steve stuck with us, showing us over 30 houses and putting in 10 offers on our behalf. Their expertise and experience were invaluable to us as we navigated the market. They were always supportive, realistic, and honest with us, and in the end, we were able to find a house we loved! We are so thankful for all of the work they put into helping us buy our first home. As much as we are glad that this stressful process is almost over, we will definitely miss our regular interactions with Katie and Steve!

Steve did a very thorough job of helping my wife and I to find a home that we would be happy with. This was no easy assignment. I was very particular and and was going to move forward only when everything was right. Steve was patient and stayed on top of everything. My wife and I couldn't be happier.We received the same service with listing and selling our house. Steve helped make sure that we were positioned appropriately and we were very pleased with the short listing period and strong selling price. Everything went smoothly.
