Lake Lifestyles

Living on the Lake is like being on vacation 52 weeks a year. Coldwell Banker Advantage serves buyers and sellers looking for homes around Lake Gaston, Kerr Lake, Falls Lake & Jordan Lake. Each of these lakes have a lot to offer in home styles and types of recreation.

Lake Gaston has become a favorite vacation spot for water skiing, boating, wakeboarding and fishing. The Lake is about 34 miles long with 350 miles of shoreline with covering 20,000 acres. Because the lake was created for hydroelectric power, the lake level is kept at consistent levels, allowing for year round recreation. Our Littleton, NC office helps sellers and buyers in both North Carolina and Virginia.

Kerr Lake has over 850 miles of mostly wooded shoreline stretching across the North Carolina / Virgina state line.  With over 50,000 acres, the lake is one of the largest in the country. Kerr Lake, also known has Buggs Island Lake in Virginia, is popular for fishing and boating. The lake has large-mouth bass, striped bass, crappie, catfish and bream. Recreational motor boating, sailing, jet-skiing and water-tubing are also quite popular. The Carolina Sailing Club stages monthly regattas April through October. They also serve the Jordan Lake area. Our Clarksville, VA office helps buyers and sellers in both North Carolina and Virginia.

Falls Lake is known for fishing, boating and swimming, as well as walking and mountain biking as part of the state’s Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Falls Lake is a 12,000 acre lake with 26,000 acres of woodlands surrounding the lake. There are not that many waterfront homes, however there are quite a few neighborhoods that border the lake with easy foot access. There are also several state recreation areas to access the lake: Beaverdam, B.W. Wells, Highway 50, Holly Point, Rolling View, Sandling Beach and Shinleaf. The Falls Lake area is serviced by our Creedmoor, Falls River and Raleigh offices.

Jordan Lake has almost 14,000 acres of water with many quiet little coves and several miles of open water. This lake is popular for fishing, bird watching, water-skiing and sailing. Bald Eagles and Osprey Eagles both call Jordan Lake home. The lake is owned by the US Army Corp of Engineers and the state operates nine recreation areas on the lake: Crosswinds Campground, Ebenezer Church, Parker’s Creek, Poplar Point, Seaforth, Vista Point, Robeson Creek, New Hope Overlook and White Oak. The Carolina Sailing Club offers a Winter Racing Series, Championship Racing Series and a Summer Coaching Series as well as multiple Regatta’s. The western side of Jordan Lake is served by our Chapel Hill office and the eastern side of the lake is served by our Cary and Apex offices.
