Cary is a booming community of about 150,000 residents nestled between Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park. History

The North Carolina Railroad is largely responsible for the founding of Cary in the mid-1850s. Farmer Allison Francis "Frank" Page and his wife Kate bought 300 acres. They began developing the town and named it Cary, after Samuel Fenton Cary. The local post office was established in 1856 and Page was the postmaster. He also was the town's first mayor.

Fun Facts

The Umstead Hotel and Spa was named among the 2015 Best Hotels in the USA, by U.S. News & World Report in January 2015.
