Denise relocated to North Carolina from Alabama in 1978 after graduating from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) with a degree in Office Management. She worked as a paralegal for 22 years before becoming a REALTOR in 2004. It’s not surprising that she took this career turn as her father was a Builder/Developer and her mother had been a Real Estate Broker as well so she really grew up around Real Estate.
As a long time Johnston County resident, Denise works with Buyers and Sellers throughout Johnston County, Garner and Raleigh. She loves working with First Time Home Buyers as they go through the exciting process of accomplishing their goal of buying that first home. She also specializes in working with Seniors to meet their needs of moving close to their children, downsizing, etc. Says Denise, “I try to stay in tune with my clients’ needs and wants and am always very responsive to their questions and concerns”. Denise also holds the SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist)designation specializing in meeting the unique Real Estate needs of Seniors and is a member of the Council for Ageless Residential Environments (C.A.R.E.) encouraging Universal Design Homes so that all owners will have accessibility throughout their lives and be able to stay in their homes longer. She was also named the 2011 REALTOR of the Year by Johnston County Association of REALTORS.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, reading and travelling. I’m also a proud and active supporter of Susan G. Komen Foundation, Easter Seals and the Methodist Home for Children

Denise is the best! I am a veteran and through a special program through USAA that has selected the best real estate agents to help veterans I found
Denise and she was everything we could have asked for as a real estate agent to guide us through the home selling and buying process. No doubt, I would choose her again. She has the experience and expertise to help guide you through the home buying and selling process. You don't have to be a veteran to get her to be your real estate agent. What are you waiting for. Give her and her team a call.
Denise Pilkington is a proficient realtor and broker! She has assisted our family several times. She worked extremely hard to market our home. We had a unique property that was difficult to sell, but she sold it and then helped us find our new home. She always offered us expert advice and did so with efficiency and patience. She will work tirelessly until you are totally satisfied. Denise is a well known and respected professional realtor/broker in the Johnston County area. I would highly recommend her if you need someone to help you buy or sell your home.
This is the second time Denise has helped me buy a home, and she was wonderful both times. She had a great deal of knowledge about the Clayton area. She was very patient with us when we were looking at homes and being very picky! After figuring out what we didn't like, Denise made helpful suggestions and showed us homes she thought we would like. She worked nights and weekends showing us probably 20 homes. Finally when we decided on one, she was great when it came to the negotiation process in making sure we got a fair deal. She was very responsive to emails, texts, and calls and worked very quickly to get everything done in a timely manner! Would definitely recommend her to anyone buying or selling a home!
If you need a good - no make that great - real estate agent, Denise is the agent you want. We have used Denise to buy and sell property on 3 different occasions. Denise has helped us buy a home for our parents to relocate to so that we could care for them. She also helped us more recently to sell that home when we no longer needed it. In both of these situations she was sensitive to our special needs and very supportive of us and the decisions that had to be made. In a more fun situation, Denise helped us find our "Mountain House" get away. A real estate agent must be extremely knowledgeable in todays market. Laws and requirements continue to change, sometimes on a weekly basis, as various aspects of the process such as banking regulations, market availability, interest rates, and governmental regulations, to name just a few impact the buying/selling process. Denise keeps up with these changes. Through it all she has represented us as the professional that she is. She pays close attention to all details of the process and is confident, consistent, knowledgeable, prepared, available, and fun. You don't want just anybody to be your agent - you want someone who knows what they are doing and can get the job done. You also want someone who is willing to put forth an effort that requires not only knowledge, but a willingness to work when you are available and is prepared for you and your needs no matter how long the process takes. Denise Pilkington is most definitely that agent.
